Background
St Andrew's is the mother church of the Diocese of Sydney. The Diocese has a long tradition of being evangelical and this is reflected in the life of the Cathedral.
Mission
We seek to maintain the highest standards of music and bible teaching. We have close links with St Andrew's Cathedral School and Moore Theological College. The Cathedral's aim is "to glorify God by proclaiming our Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ in prayerful dependence on the Holy Spirit, so that everyone will hear his call to repent, trust and serve Christ in love, and be established in the fellowship of his disciples while they await his return."
Architecture
St Andrew's Cathedral was consecrated in 1868. The Chapter House was built in 1886. Major restoration work was undertaken in 1999-2000 to bring the Cathedral up to its present state of good order. You can find more about the history of the building on Wikipedia.
